Baking Soda Blasting
Service — All of Florida
Gentle enough for wood, fiberglass, and soft metals. The go-to method for fire soot, smoke damage, mold, and wrap removal — strips surfaces clean without altering what's underneath.
The Method
What Is Soda Blasting?
Soda blasting — also called baking soda blasting — uses food-grade sodium bicarbonate as the blasting media. Unlike sand or crushed glass, baking soda particles are softer and more friable, meaning they shatter on impact and release their energy without cutting deeply into the surface beneath.
This makes soda blasting the right choice when you need to strip paint, remove coatings, or clean a surface without altering its profile — wood, fiberglass, aluminum, and soft metals all benefit from a gentler approach.
Soda blasting is also one of the most effective methods for fire and smoke damage restoration. Sodium bicarbonate is naturally alkaline — it doesn't just remove char and soot, it chemically neutralizes the acidic residue that causes ongoing odor and material breakdown long after the fire is out.

Soda Blasting vs. Other Methods
Soda Blasting
Gentle on substrates, fire & smoke soot removal, no profile change, neutralizes mold & acid residue
Best for: Wood, fiberglass, aluminum, fire damage, mold, wraps, historic surfaces
Sandblasting
Fast, aggressive, cuts through heavy rust & buildup
Best for: Steel, structural metal, concrete, heavy rust
Crushed Glass
Clean white finish, aggressive, good for steel
Best for: Automotive, marine steel, structural prep
Walnut Shell
Medium aggression, won't damage glass or trim
Best for: Automotive, wood, precision parts
What We Treat
Soda Blasting Applications
From log homes to boat hulls, historic brick to industrial equipment — soda blasting handles surfaces that other methods would damage.
Fire, Smoke & Soot Removal
One of soda blasting's most powerful applications. It removes char, soot, and smoke residue from wood, masonry, drywall, and structural surfaces — while the alkaline chemistry of sodium bicarbonate neutralizes the acidic compounds that cause persistent odor and ongoing material breakdown after a fire.
Mold & Mildew Removal
Eliminate mold, mildew, and organic growth from wood, concrete, and masonry surfaces. Soda's alkaline chemistry neutralizes mold at the root rather than just removing the visible layer.
Log Home & Wood Restoration
Strip old stain, paint, mold, and weathering from log cabins, wood siding, decks, fences, and barns — without raising the grain or damaging the wood fiber.
Vehicle & Fleet Wrap Removal
Remove vinyl wraps from aluminum, fiberglass, and painted surfaces without heat guns, chemicals, or adhesive residue. Soda blasting lifts the wrap cleanly without damaging the panel underneath — ideal for fleet rebranding or vehicle restorations.
Fiberglass & Gelcoat
Gently remove old paint, antifouling coatings, and oxidation from fiberglass boat hulls, RVs, and composite panels without cracking or distorting the surface.
Aluminum & Soft Metals
Clean and prep aluminum, chrome, and soft metals for restoration or new coatings — without warping, pitting, or surface distortion that harder abrasives cause.
Grease & Carbon Buildup
Remove baked-on grease, carbon deposits, and industrial contamination from equipment, engines, and machinery without damaging precision components.
Historic & Delicate Surfaces
Restore historic brick, stone, and architectural details without disturbing the original substrate — ideal for preservation and restoration projects.
See It In Action
Soda Blasting Wood Beams — Mold, Mildew & Sun Damage
The Project
These structural wood beams were stuck in a permitting holding pattern — exposed to the elements long enough to accumulate mold, mildew, and UV damage. Soda blasting stripped the contamination without raising the wood grain or altering the surface profile, leaving the beams clean, sound, and ready for coating the moment the permit cleared.
This is exactly why soda blasting is the right call for wood — it removes biological growth and surface damage without cutting into the fiber beneath.
Why Legacy
The Right Prep. The First Time.
We Choose the Right Media
Not every job calls for the same media. We assess your surface, your goals, and your substrate before recommending soda, walnut shell, crushed glass, or another media type. The right media is the one that protects the surface while achieving the result.
Mobile Across All of Florida
We bring the equipment to you — statewide. From Pensacola to Miami, Jacksonville to Naples, our mobile dustless blasting service means you don't have to transport your assets or shut down operations.
Dustless. Cleaner. Safer.
Our dustless process contains spent media and suppresses airborne particles, making soda blasting safer for operators, bystanders, and adjacent surfaces — and leaving your project site in far better condition than traditional dry blasting.
